Other Wildlife

We live right next to a national park and have a brand new subdivision being built across the street that is ripping up a lot of the surrounding woods.  As a result, a great deal of wildlife has moved in to our large and wooded backyard.  And being the suckers that we are, we leave out food for the various animals who call our yard home.

Garith grabs a camera whenever possible.  We have a family of raccoons that knock on the door for dinner, a silver opossom who comes around for a snack too, a whole herd of deer who bed down in the backyard, and three tortoises who live under the rocks by the driveway and are so used to being picked up and moved by vehicle operators that they no longer hide in their shells when approached by a human.  We've also seen armadillos, wild boar, foxes, snakes, owls, hawks, rabbits, moles, and bobcats on our property.
