Duckie and I didn't get married on Halloween to be weird.  We did it because we knew it was the only way we'd ever be able to get that particular day off of work and neither one of us had enjoyed a Halloween Night off in years.  So we dressed up like vampires and took a jaunt over to the courthouse to start our new life together... which wasn't really much different from the old life together except now we get to wear these cool rings we had made for the occasion.

Waiting with friends and family outside the courthouse.   Yes, my brother was hung over from the bachelor party the night before.  I know because I went with them to the titty bar.  It wasn't like anyone would dare throw a traditional bridal shower for me anyway.

The whole ceremony was laughable.  Really, we all laughed all the way through it.  Naturally, our vows weren't the usual run of the mill promises.  We weren't promising to obey and forsake all others... we were making far more practical promises like not to fight in public or with sharp objects in hand.

Then our merry little band promptly hit the parking lot for a cigarette.   Did I mention we did maybe fifteen minutes worth of planning for this big day?  I kid you not, we decided which nightclub to meet up later for the "Wedding Reception"  while in the hallway of the courthouse.

Although we swore not to work, we did follow our custom of dressing up all the neighborhood kids for trick-or-treating prior to going out ourselves.  We decided it was only appropriate for us to dress up like the two lead characters from "Dangerous Liaisons". 

Our first choice in night clubs turned out to be a loud, plastic nightmare.  Once our party was all together, we moved to a much quieter location and a good time was had by all.
