This hallway
marks the first time I ever did a wallpaper job on an actual wall. (As
opposed to fake walls we use for sets) But someone had given me a couple rolls of wallpaper ages ago, and I never had a use for it until I bought my house. So I figured, why not? I had to learn how to do it sometime. |
| Here's the whole
wall. Not wanting to push my luck, I only papered halfway down than put in a
piece of decorative moulding before painting the bottom half in an olive
green. In the doorway from the kitchen hangs a rod with the camo-patterned netting as a means to divide the two areas. I couldn't resist tossing a few realistic-looking snakes in there as well. |

Looking down the
short hallway. Each door is trimmed with a faux bamboo frame and faux vines swathed around the room. Of course, my signature bat can be found right in the center. I had a wooden carved bat from Indonesia that just fit in perfectly. The hanging lamp was a flea market find, an old 60s globe swag lamp with amber glass. On the walls are various jungle odds-n-ends, animal masks and jungle leaf artwork from Africa. |

doorway that leads to the utility room.
