The Halloween Castle gets new things added to it every year as the stores stock their spooky season merchandise.

The smallest
of the windows was curtained with a bat-patterned fabric and wide black
lace. Around it, lots of spooky toys. Half the kitchen was papered with a simulated stone-wall wallpaper. I decided to go with a more brown color than the typical grey stones. |
| The counters were
done with slate-looking tile in a greenish-brown color to make them look old
and decrepit. The counter edges were finished with a textured paint. In the cabinet inserts, more Halloween fabric coated with sealer to make them easier to clean. |

The communication
center for our household. Basically I covered a board with the same fabric I used for the cabinets and sewed a few pockets into it to hold notes, pens, etc... A legal pad strung across it serves as our shopping list station. |
| Another shot of the cabinets, some with open shelves and curtaining. |

The actual dining
area has a simple iron and glass table and chair set.
|
| Celeste and David
are regular guests in the kitchen. So I dressed them in Halloween costumes and set them in the dining nook. Behind them, the larger windows with bat-covered fabric and a few large toy bats line the top of the wall and down the side. |

I looked
everywhere for the perfect light for this room, and finally found this one
on Ebay. As a bonus, the seller was local to me so we could just pick it up! The ceiling was since painted black in here. |
