Glue Monster

The "Glue Monster" was a rainy day project that I came up with when figuring out what in the world to do with a plain wooden box used for holding pencils.

It was all done with a low-temp glue gun, paint, and a few taxidermist eyes I had laying around.

The Lion's Eye Journal

After making the Glue Monster, I still had an eye left over and was still feeling creative, so I grabbed a hard folder cover and kept on going. This actually involved using a bit of plaster as well.

The News Baphomet

This was a long project that began back in the summer of 2004 during the hurricanes that hit Florida every other week. Because I just cannot sit still, I decided to start on something that wouldn't require electricity in case the power went out. So I would sit and work on this while watching the Weather Channel for storm updates.

It still wasn't completed after the last storm swept through, so it went into the sewing basket as a "rainy day" project. After that, whenever I was sitting in front of the TV watching the news during big events, I worked on it.

Finally, in Dec. 2006 It was finished during the news coverage of Saddam Hussien's execution.

That's why this has been dubbed "The News Baphomet".

Beading is something I tend to do whenever I'm feeling under the weather and confined to my bed. I'm just one of those people who have to stay busy.

I can't tell you how many productions have been funded mostly by these rainy day activities of mine.
